Mets Fans Can Strike Out Hunger at MetsGiving Food Drive!

By Bayside Macaroni Kid October 28, 2026

Northeast Queens families have a chance to help their neighbors this November at the Mets’ annual MetsGiving Food Drive, benefiting City Harvest. The drive runs Thursday, November 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field.

City Harvest is New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization. This year it expects to rescue 100 million pounds of nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it free to food pantries, soup kitchens, and community partners across the five boroughs. Every can and package you drop off helps keep those shelves stocked.

Donors who bring at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher for two tickets to a select Monday through Thursday Mets home game in 2027. Each fan is limited to one voucher. Donors also get an exclusive 20% discount at the team store, though some exclusions may apply.

Canned and packaged goods of all kinds are welcome, but please leave out glass containers and perishable foods. The most-needed items include canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned proteins such as tuna and beans, canned soups, peanut butter in plastic jars, packaged macaroni and cheese, packaged family-size hot and cold cereal, and juice packs.

Free parking is available in Lot G, which you can reach through Gate 1 on Seaver Way. The Team Store sits on the first base side of Citi Field, between the Jackie Robinson Rotunda and the Hodges Entrance.
